Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating after human remains were found in Lake Erie.
According to Constable Ed Sanchuk, police were called just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday by a family that had anchored its boat near Pottahawk Point and discovered what appeared to be skeletal remains in the water.
“Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit with the assistance of an anthropologist are currently investigating to determine the age and origin of the remains,” police said in a statement issued Monday. “Further details will be released when available.”
