Human remains found in Coleman Township, southeast of the town of Cobalt shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday, April 15 have been identified as missing 21-year-old Nicholas Rivard.
A post mortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS) earlier today, Thursday, April 18, in Ottawa.
Rivard was reported missing on March 27, and was last seen on March 24 in the Town of Cobalt. On April 12, Temiskaming OPP were saying they had not ruled out foul play.
The investigation remains ongoing with members of the Temiskaming OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Kurtis Fredericks, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
