A 32-year-old man last seen by family members on Day Star First Nation on Saturday afternoon has been found dead.
On Sunday, Punnichy RCMP learned the man from Kawacatoose First Nation was missing and began to investigate his disappearance, and sought assistance from search and rescue and a police dog from Yorkton.
According to RCMP, a passerby found a man’s body on Grid 743 north of Day Star First Nation and called for EMS. RCMP learned through a Wynyard EMS dispatch about the discovery.
In a media release, RCMP say the remains were identified as belonging to the man who was reported missing. His family has been notified.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the man’s disappearance and death. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
