Sundre RCMP Searching For Missing Indigenous Hunter in Clearwater County, Alberta


RCMP say a man has gone missing in the Williams Creek area, west of Sundre.

According to Mounties, it was 8:30 a.m. on Saturday when a Calgary man went hunting with his son and an adult male friend in the area, which is within Clearwater County.

The man went off on an animal track, but did not return to the group.

His son and friend returned safe after they could not locate him, and then contacted police.

Timothy Benedict Campbell, 33, is described as Indigenous male, 6”0″ tall and 161 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a Carhardt jacket.

Local RCMP members have been involved in the search and are being assisted by Sundre and Rocky Mountain House Search & Rescue, RCMP Air Services, RCMP Police Dog Services, and Clearwater Fire Rescue.

Searches will resume Monday morning. No further information is available at this time. An update will be provided once new information becomes available.
