Urn found near Red Deer River

Red Deer RCMP are trying to locate the next of kin of a male by the last name of Severight (deceased in 2017) after an urn with ashes was found along the bank of the Red Deer River on May 13. The urn was found along the walking path on the north side of the Red Deer River on Riverside Drive.

The urn, a plain black plastic box, had a tag embossed with “Hainstock 14300” which police determined means the urn came from the Hainstock Funeral Home and Crematorium in Edmonton.

Working with the funeral home, police have made attempts to contact the next of kin on file, however these efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
